The Reluctant Time Traveler - ILLUSIONS

THE RELUCTANT TIME TRAVELER

A LITTLE QUIZ

As good a teacher a Kronos is, I felt I was in way over my head.  Here he was explaining the mysteries of the universe to me as though it was common knowledge, when on earth my people were just beginning to speculate about such matters.  As I listened and watched Kronos spin ideas in time and space, I wondered how I could even begin to convey this ever so precious information to present day humanity?  I was afraid......no, certain, that he had vastly overestimated my abilities.  Combined with the fact that he didn't seem to comprehend the word "no", no matter how skillfully broached it might be.

"Kronos", I whined, "I'm beginning to wonder if I am the best choice to........ Kronos broke in, "Now don't be silly my boy, you will do just fine.  It will all work out, you will see."  He beamed with confidence.  I was glad he was confident, because I was shaking inside.  I was beginning to understand how "John Conners", in the movie "The Terminator", must have felt!  "We have more important ideas to pursue than what may or may not happen in your future."  He said, oblivious of my dread.  Suddenly we were back in the void.  Believe it or not, I was beginning to like the place.  It was comforting to know that there was nothing there to get you.  I guess this comes of millions of years of being eaten alive by all kinds of critters.

"Now,"  he began.  "We shall have ourselves a little quiz."
I could tell he was very amused with himself.  He continued, "This is necessary for you to graduate onto the next level of understanding."  He explained patiently.  "I would like for you to tell me about the void?"
"Is this an open book test?"  I asked innocently.  He didn't seem to understand my humor, so I began.

"Hmmmm........let us see, the void is a very large empty place....but not really empty."  I hastened to add.  "It is filled with energy that is condensed.  It has the ability, or rather, the potential for motion and intelligence.  It has a seemingly opposite place from it that is filled with white light, but that is only a reflection of itself when it gets excited."  I concluded happily.

"Well, yes, I think you are getting it."  He said hesitantly.  "Although I now understand your fear. " He laughed.  "I am sorry to say that I can only give you a "D" grade, but this is a passing grade and nothing to be ashamed of.  It just means we will have to spend a little more time on this. "
I was a terribly embarrassed, but said nothing.  I would be ready for him and his "little quiz" next time!
I didn't see Kronos for a while, but it was just as well.  My marriage was on the rocks, and I was on the verge of bankruptcy.

THIS TIME I WAS READY

"Spence was fond of his drink", to quote Katherine Hepburn in an interview about Spencer Tracy.  I too was fond of my drink.  I was having dire financial troubles which I cried often about to the bartender at the "Admirals Dingy", a favorite Disco bar in the 70's, in Playa Del Rey California, where I owned a house.  It seemed everyone was picking on me, and I didn't know why.  And now, with the added burden of Kronos, I sometimes felt as though I was ready to crack.  I felt paralyzed and bewildered.  Why were so many wonderful things happening on the inside of me, and at the same time, be so terrible on the outside?

I had tried to write about what I had been learning from Kronos.  One day, I sat down and delineated on paper, the major points that I felt were necessary to nail down the void.  I don't know why I had made such a big deal about it.  There weren't that many points to remember, I mean, after all, it was the void!

NOT HAPPY WITH A "D"!

When Kronos finally did show up, I was ready for him.  "Kronos, it is good to be in your presence once again.  How have you been?"
He smiled, seeming to see through my ploy.
"I was wondering if I could take that test again?  I'm not happy with a "D" grade."  I said, trying not to make much of it.
"Well of course."  He said without hesitation.  "Go right ahead."  He seemed very amused, but I didn't care.  This was to assuage my personal pride.

I took a deep breath and began,  "When we are experiencing the void, we are actually experiencing a pure primordial energy as it was at the very beginning of this cycle of creation.  Primordial energy is the most dense material in the universe
The void, although unrealized at this time in its cycle, exhibits consciousness.  All that we have in the 3d world came from here.  Very much like all life on earth came out of the ocean.  This part of the cycle is a null point where there can be no vibration.  Oh yes, vibration is also a big, if not the biggest part of what the void contains.  As the vibration increases in frequency, it eventually reaches a point where its influence upon the void causes it to light up, or ignite, into a bright glow, brighter than the sun.  The cycle, (not to be confused with the frequency of vibration that produces white light), continues slowly back and forth, between darkness and light.

THE DARK UNIVERSE

The dark universe is synonymous with evil to human beings, and the light is synonymous with good.  The two universes are diametrically opposed and constantly balanced by one another. They can never be in the same place at the same time.  However, dependant upon our viewpoint relative to the speed of interchange between the two universes, there is a place, where the two universes seem to merge into a third universe of white light, where the void is no longer accessible   This is the "true" universe, as opposed to the white universe of the 2nd dimension that is in opposition with the black universe or 1st dimension, which, by comparison with the 3rd dimension, is merely illusion.
The black universe is called the first dimension.  The white universe is called the 2nd dimension.  The combination of the two is called the third dimension. " I nervously waited for a response.
"I'm sorry, could you repeat that again?  I was thinking about something else", Kronos teased.  "Actually that was quite succinct .  I will have to revise your grade to an "A+".

A CRITICALLY IMPORTANT POINT

"If you will permit me?" Kronos said, "There is one small but critically important point that needs to be clarified.  He paused for a longer time than I had remembered him doing.  "When one, in his consciousness, is experiencing a slower rate of vibration of the cycle between dark and light, to use the light switch example, it can be thought of as turning the light switch on and off slowly.  We could, theoretically, click the switch once a day, or once a year.  It doesn't matter how slowly, the result is still the same, two distinctly separate universes.  However, in order to see the light as appearing to be on all of the time, one must click the light switch on and off very rapidly at a certain minimum rate."  He paused to make sure I was following him.

"Now, a question, the correct answer to which, is a correction of one of the major stumbling blocks in present day metaphysical thinking.
Assuming that the light switch stays at the necessary minimum rate of vibration, by itself, in order for us to see the light as being on all of the time.  And assuming that we have the ability to either raise or lower our vibrations, which enables us to see the light as either being on all of the time, or as simply being turned on and off.  (And here is the question), in order to see the light as being on all of the time, would we have to raise our vibrations, or lower them?"

"Well", I thought, "one would have to raise them."

Kronos paused again.  I could tell that he was not happy with my answer.
Kronos continued, "Well, and that is what most people would believe.  Think of it this way, If clicking the light switch on and off could be thought of as a number of boxcars on an infinitely long train, where each click is represented by a single boxcar.   And you were standing along side the railroad track as the train sped by, the train would seem to be going very fast, correct?"
"Yes."  I agreed, trying to see where he was going with this.  Kronos, continuing.   "If you were to begin running along side the train in the direction the train was traveling, would the train seem to speed up or slow down?"
"Well, I guess the train would seem to be slowing down."
Kronos looked at me as if he were expecting angels to fly out of my ass, in a great revelation.
"So," He continued, "if you were to speed up your vibrations in relation to the constant rate of light clicks, then, would the light stay on or would it appear as light and dark?"

I SEE THE LIGHT!

I thought for a moment.  "Aaaaaa! I see the light!"  Pun intended.  "So, if you speeded up your vibrations, it would seem as if the light clicks were slowing down.   You said that the rate of light clicks was constant at the minimum rate to maintain the illusion of the light being always on.  If the light clicks seemed to slow down, then they would appear to be happening at a rate too slow for the light to appear always on."
"This was very interesting," I said, "and exactly the opposite of the way I thought it would be, without really thinking about it.  Hmmmm, this means that if one were to slow down his vibrations, eventually the number of light clicks would reach the minimum frequency, and appear as constant light again."

Kronos paused for a moment.  This is the very reason that so many "Spiritual" people seem so out of balance to the extreme positive side of consciousness.  They furvently believe that the more positive, by existing in ever higher vibrations, they are, the more wonderfully spiritual they will become.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Curtis, I believe that if you can convince people of just this one law of balance, you will have been a success in my eyes!

As I let this sink in, I thought about how one might change his rate of vibration to facilitate experiencing various levels of reality?   But before I could ask the question, I was back at my desk in Playa Del Rey.
I marveled at how Kronos could make me, a grown man, feel like a little kid.  But I suppose to him, who is many thousands of years old, I was just a little kid."
