The next time I saw Kronos, we met in the black universe, I guess because he knew I was more apt to pay attention there. "Kronos." I said, happy to see him. "I had a very strange dream." Kronos didn't say anything, so I continued. "I was driving along in my car on a narrow two lane highway. I have no idea where it was. It was one of those rocky tree lined mountain roads. It was beginning to snow, and I turned on my windshield wipers which made a kind of wedge shape on both sides of the windshield as they slapped back and forth in unison. I was alone, and above the sounds of the heater and windshield wipers, I could hear the muffled crunching noise the tires were making on fresh snow."
"My head lights picked up the flakes as they angled obliquely towards me, making them seem even whiter. The snow was coming down noticeably more heavily now, and it was becoming hard to see. My wipers labored noisily, in a losing battle, to fend off the white onslaught. The wedges had been reduced to two narrow slits, and I considered pulling over and stopping."
"Just then I heard what I thought was your voice. It said matter of factly. "Turn off your windshield wipers." Without thinking, I found myself turning them off. I looked at my speedometer, I was going thirty five, and increasing, forty, forty five..... I could see the soft eerie glow of my headlights through the blanket of snow on my windshield. Incredibly, I felt no sense of fear. Then I heard you say. "Now, turn off your headlights." I found myself calmly turning off my headlights. I heard and felt the tires on the passengers side go off the road and onto the shoulder. The car began to bounce unevenly on that side. Then I felt the tires on my side also gradually leave the road."
"Once again I heard your voice. It said. "Take your hands off of the steering wheel." I quietly obeyed, removing my hands from the wheel. I was amazed at my calmness. I knew there were rocks and trees on that side of the road, and I knew that hitting something was just seconds away. Unbelievably as it may sound, I have never felt calmer as I let go completely in perfect trust. It was the most wonderful feeling of freedom! Just then I woke up."
Kronos nodded. "Very interesting, however, I wouldn't recommend doing that in reality." He laughed. "What did you make of the dream?" He asked, seeming genuinely interested. "Well, to me it was obviously a dream of trust. Would I trust you with my life, and do whatever you told me to do, regardless of how dangerous it may seem."
Kronos thought for a moment. "What if it wasn't really me?" He smiled evilly. "There are entities that fool people into doing all sorts of stupid things. These entities are, what is called, "discarnates". They have either died recently, or they have separated from the dying process, and feed on the fear, and sometimes sexual energy, of incarnates, in order to stay alive. Discarnates have nothing to do with the soul. It is simply the next densest body after the physical. It usually dies within several days after the physical body dies. If they learn how, they can exist for years.
They are called by many names, incubus, succubus, spirit, shade, apparition, and wraith, to name a few, but ghost is probably the most common in your country."
THE
BIG
BANG-NOT!
"Luckily it was me." He laughed. "Let us continue with our lessons. It is easy to become distracted by all manner of interesting side roads. We can examine some of these when it is appropriate for our lessons, but for now, we need to concentrate on the fundamentals." Let's see, we have just finished with the twelve universes. Next comes how all of this becomes individualized into matter." He smiles. "I know that the current paradigm in cosmology is that of "The Big Bang", which leads us to believe that the "earliest" universe consisted of a tiny speck of super condensed matter." He paused. "I have a problem with the semantics involved with this last statement. Tiny cannot exist without something to compare it with.
In non-relativity, a seemingly tiny speck could actually be a tiny speck, compared to other tiny specks in our everyday reality. Or it could be so large that it is, by all definitions, infinite. Mind you that I am not being critical. What I intend to do is rid you of the big bang notion, and help you begin to see what really happens this early in the formation of the physical universe. Remember that as a cycle, we are looking at the very beginning phase." He thought for a moment. Cosmology on my planet evolved through the same scientific models that your present time line is experiencing. I would be surprised if cosmologists of today thought otherwise."
"What I am about to show you took me a very long time to understand. On my level of development, I must discover my own truths in my own time. Protocol dictates that I can consult with no one. You are very fortunate to have someone to explain it to you." He patted me on the head. "I would have given anything to have someone like me, sharing their knowledge." He smiled. "I will explain this as simply as I can. If there is anything you don't understand, ask me right away, so we can clarify it." Kronos thought for a moment. For homework, learn all you can about the "Big Bang", and we will compare that with what we see here." Remember, that there are no bad students, only bad teachers!" He laughed. Kronos had an annoying habit of repeating his favorite sayings, but I loved him in spite of this.
I felt somewhat like a sheltered virgin to whom her mother was explaining nuptial duties for the very first time.
RETURN
TO
THE
VOID
I had a hard day and I was tired. I had just finished holding Mrs. Peele for fifteen minutes, and was looking forward to a hot shower and a quick nap before getting on my computer. I dried off and put on the thick blue robe that my mother had gotten me for Christmas. It had a crest on the little pocket in front, and was lined with white piping around the sleeves, and also around the collar which extended all of the way down the front. I felt a bit like a King whenever I wore it. Good old...er. young mom. She didn't like it when I called her old. She had a way of surprising me with the nicest gifts. I always got her dumb ones, or was so broke that I couldn't buy presents for anyone. Christmas was not my favorite holiday.
I must have dozed off in front of the computer because the next thing I knew, I heard Kronos's voice. He sounded a bit alarmed. I became suddenly worried. He said. "Come quickly! Meet me in the void." And that was all. I quieted myself expecting to be transported to the void, but instead, I was still sitting at my computer. I thought it was because I was worried that somehow the process was not working. I focused on Kronos until I could see him clearly in the void. "Hi." He said, cheerfully. "Fancy meeting you here." He grinned mischievously. "What took you so long?"
I could tell he was up to something, but what, I didn't know. "You worried the hell out of me." I blurted. "I thought you were in some sort of trouble!" "Little old me. In trouble?" He said, feigning incredulousness. "What exactly were you going to do if I had been in trouble?" He kidded me. "What's going on Kronos?" I said getting upset. "Stop fooling around and just tell me!" He laughed. "Well, for starters, I am fine. Please remember that there is nothing out here that can possibly hurt me. And, I didn't bring you here this time." It took a moment for this to sink in. He repeated. "I didn't bring you here. You brought yourself here, all by yourself!"
He was so delighted that he could hardly contain himself. "This is always the hardest step for a fledgling time traveler. Their first conscious trip to the void." "Yikes!" I exclaimed, as the full realization set in. "Yikes!!!"
